I absolutely love barbecue. I repeat, I. LOVE. BARBECUE! Chicken, pork, beef — it’s all amazing after a stint in a smoke-filled box, so I really was itching to try a new (to me) place in Knoxville called Big Catz BBQ.

Wally had been trying to get to Boss Hog’s, a new BBQ place in Banner for a year, but it was always closed when he went by. After confirming it was open on Sundays, we decided to head that way for a leisurely Sunday lunch. Of course, we wanted to explore a bit on the way.
We did a short stint on Route 6/74/474 to get us to where we wanted to really start from. The roads from Bartonville to Glasford and eventually Banner were quiet, open, and somewhat curvy — not bad for a short ride close to home. Continue reading
